SOCKs and Holiday Food Drive

December 8, 2022

We are hosting two giving initiatives this December – our Annual BeConnected Sock Drive, where we collect warm socks and needed and wanted items for people experiencing homelessness in the communities we serve, and a Holiday Food Drive for the Mustard Seed Food Bank. Please donate to one or both by dropping off donations at BeConnected’s offices or program locations, or by bringing to one of our December events where a collection box will be available.

Community Inclusion Month

BeConnected Support Services is pleased to join the province of BC, CLBC, Inclusion BC, partner organizations, self advocates, and other individuals/allies, in recognizing October as Community Inclusion Month. The month is an opportunity to recognize the hard work of individuals, families and community members who create inclusive communities and opportunities for all British Columbians with developmental disabilities.
This year the proclamation recognizes the importance of inclusive housing, employment, health and well-being and self-determined Indigenous strategies. You can recognize Community Inclusion Month and find related updates on social media channels by using the hashtag is #CommunityInclusionMonth.
At BeConnected, we are supporting Self Advocates for a Brighter Future to host a themed meeting on Tuesday, October 18th, and we are hosting a Community Inclusion Month Pancake Breakfast on Friday, October 28th.
